Dex, you have done your best to be fair to the government but I think its time to fess up and admit they have no idea what direction to take. They have flip flopped and even Pete has called their budget a morbid joke. Thats Peter Costello saying that not some lefty on HC lol.
Labor cant believe its luck imo as they would have been terrified of the prospect of a switch to Malcolm Turnbull who could have set a more viable policy agenda without being seen as the person that made cast iron promises and then broke them, namely Abbott.
If the LNP leadership had changed at the time of the spill in a matter of time people would have forgotten the other fella and his personal broken promises would no longer be as great an issue. Any change closer to the election will be fresher in the minds of voters who will see it as more dysfunction and a wasted three years and they would lose regardless the leader.
