i can't see either side of govt changing franking credits ,especially in up coming budget.
But i definitely can see taxes increasing from nil on smsf's with what the govt regards as excessive ? levels.
Both sides of govt have said they agree with above so i believe this will happen in budget but not through FC,more through withdrawal taxes increasing or earnings taxes..
My concern is once they start setting levels which i actually agree with,but then that level may decrease,and labour has restated they feel any smsf earning $100,000 plus should be taxed more.
Even a smsf with 500,000 could earn above so i hope once they make changes they don't continue the uncertainty which concerns all living off their smsf.
ps if i was starting work i would not be pouring the funds into a smsf until these fools,both sides,make the changes required then leave the smsf's to earn the pensions required for self funded retirees to live off.
