    It may be a tough world out there BUT the big miners have to remember that the ore they are playing IO price gods with is NOT THEIRS - The mineral wealth belongs to the Australian people and the miners have a permit to mine only with the sanction of the government. There is a greater good that the leaders of RIO and BHP need to get into their corporate heads...That being, large corporations being granted access to our resources have both an obligation to the shareholders to return value but also deeply consider the national good. Is it in the national interest to see competition destroyed, thousands of workers put out of work, the state and national budgets blown out of the water ? The ACCC in its recent comments RE Andrew Forrest seem to think so. Go figure.

    Yes in the world of business the weak and inefficient may well fall by the wayside, but these are not normal times and when supply manipulation is the key for the situation the market finds itself in, then is a level playing field really present ?
