bowler did not give a reason for his decision, i don't think he actually has one.
my opinion is .. he knows full well that what he does was wrong, goes against the Mining Act, but did it regardless of that for one simple reason. $$$'s from RIO.
i don't believe there's any other motive or 'particular' item in all the finer details which have really mattered.
and if you ask McCusker which way it should have gone ... he'll probably say RIO, but ONLY cause he knows what a windfall he'd get if CAZ chase it down, ...
