Let's assume that ISIS actually formed a caliphate in parts of Iraq/Syria and it becomes a country and any western news reporter found came home headless, would you start to blame ISIS knowing that the results were quite certain?
These people are only defending their own interest in the name of national security. The only different is we do it subtly using the excuse of Democracy like what US and Coalition is giving to Iraq, Libya, Egypt, heaven forbids Syria. What happened to all these countries we were "helping". Turns out that we created Al Quaida then morph into ISIS and god knows what when we defeat the latest threat! Guess what, now true blue Aussies are joining with surnames like Smiths and Jones and not only foreign sounding ones.
Can we deny their human right if they want to leave for jihadist mission? If an Australian trained doctor wants to help the wounded there that were pounded by the bombs dropped by the coalitions isn't that humanitarian effort?
Not so black and white now is it?
Don't get me wrong, I have no inclination or time for these murderous bastards but that is the hypocrisy we have to live with in our society. I also don't particularly like to see burqua walking on the streets but I don't want to break the law of racial vilification either. Have a ham sandwich mate LOL

Hi Joe, re "Can we deny their human right if they want to leave for jihadist mission?...
Damn right we can, if their jihadist mission involves lopping the heads off people and raping captive women...
If we know they are going to commit attrocities, which all ISIS does daily, we have an obligation to stop them in the interests of protecting innocents, dont we?
There are no innocents in Isis.
