Have you heard of emus at racecourses? They eagerly scavenge the thrown away tickets looking for winning tickets among them. Their eyes light up when a protest is announced, because plenty of tickets on the horse that ran second have been thrown away.

Then there are emus in casinos. They see a patron drop a $100 chip to the ground and quickly place their foot on it. When the patron does not find it, they pick up their ill gotten gains.

Of course RIO intended to renew their lease. Oversights - not renewing a lease by the expiry hour - are more common than you think.

They usually go unreported because everything works out as originally intended. There isn't a potential lease grabber out there waiting to jump the minute that lease expires.

Some could argue that what CAZ have ended up with IS fair play, IS justice.

Put very simply, the lease grabber didn't win....
