Compensation to land owners has been an on going affair,The Government would be handling that part I would think, and SDL paying compensation.
Survey's to pick the track corridor had been sorted. Land clearance from Port Site had started a long time ago, only so far into the jungle though around the Port and stock pile site area.
A survey had been done a year or so ago and was to drill into the ground as well to sort out the ground structure to find out what they had to build the Rail Line and Road on.
Very small amount of bridges to build along the corridor to Port.
That was I believe a rough guideline of the track direction. Now they are surveying and marking out a precise line for the Rail and Road.
Don't forget that the corridor will be something like,100mt's wide. The Rail track has to be precisely in the right position.
Something else to consider. A Road has to be built along side the Rail Line, passing loops have to be incorporated into the width.
Now The Cameroon Government in the Convention have asked SDL to let them know how much a Double Tracked Rail Corridor will cost. So again extra time involved, cash out-lay and extra width needed in the Rail Corridor to survey.
This extra Rail Line is to allow for 200,000,000Mtpa to be Railed to Port per Annum.

Westcott.
