Jeremiah 10:12-13: "It is he who made the earth by his power... He makes lightning for the rain, and he brings forth the wind from his storehouses." And yet 2000 years later most of us are aware that wind does not come from “storehouses”.

James 3:12-15: "Can a fig tree, my brothers, bear olives, or a grapevine produce figs? Neither can a salt pond yield fresh water." And yet 2000 years later we have desalination.

Times change.

While some old wisdom endures, some old attitudes and beliefs are simply wrong. Why not try to critically assess the beliefs of the ancients, adding to the wisdom and dismissing the outdated (rather than being constrained by it)?
