There's this quaint little thing known as insider trading which I'm sure AF knows about. The fact that the chairman of Fortescue is able to buy shares in Atlas means there is no deal being discussed in the near term. Although from what I've seen, some in this country can get away with anything. Like the board of AGO still occupying their seats after years of failing to manage costs yet still be proclaimed as saviours after wiping out a couple of billion from the market cap.
