An Australian Iron Ore Council setting production quotas....Oh, yes, now I get you.

A sort of People's Mining Council... run for The People and by The People.

(As an aside, what would be the basis on which that august body would decide on which participants get to expand, when, and by how much?)

In that case, what about a People's Grocery Retailers Council, as well, which will determine who rolls out new stores, and where and when?

Or a People's Banking Council, that decides how many mortgages each bank may issue?

Or a People's Hardware Retailing Council, who decides when Bunnings needs to stop expanding and let Masters get a better chance?

Or a People's Property Developers Council, which decides how many apartments and houses each developer may sell?

Or a People's Grape Growers' Council... those guys could sure use a bit of supply-side discipline?

Or a People's Toll Road Council?

Or a People's Airline Operators Council?

    Etc.,
    Etc.,
    Etc.

Come to think of it, I recall the world having something like these in existence a few decades ago; it was called the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.

Problem was, it turned out to be unsustainable, and after a while, it went out of business.
