there is a necessity NOW to bully them because other options have evaporated but I believe the US administration fumbled the ball after 9/11 - they had the support of most of the world in the war against terror but failed to grasp the opportunity to break the cycle of violence and address the causes of US hatred. Opportunity lost...now we will have decades of terror as unlateralism has galvanised anti-US groups.
