    Meanwhile we are left with a huge collection of claims that cannot be proven. Some say this, some say that.

    If you've read Eben Alexander's (a neurologist) account of his afterlife experience...he gives a tight timeline between his near death experience and out of body afterlife experience, but some of those who were involved dispute his time line.

    The problem with subjective experiences is that within the context of the experience, time does not flow a constant rate and the brain may be constructing a narrative that suits the dominant set of belief, thereby reinforcing its world view. A type of confirmation bias.

    Hence the need for objective confirmation and testing.
