    It's rare in the WA market to see an opportunity to be at the leading edge of new product development. Opportunities in the therapeutic goods and biotechnology sector are even rarer.
    We are seeking a driven, self-motivated and commercially astute individual to join one of WA's most exciting technology start-ups.

    The company is at the leading edge of its field of research and development. Its patented technologies are aimed at improving the efficacy and effectiveness of pharmaceutical compounds in therapeutic and cosmetic applications. It already has licensing and partnering agreements in place with some of the world's leading players in these fields and is well advanced in developing several of its technologies to the point of market introduction.

    Its most exciting line is now ready to move to the final stages of product development, manufacture and distribution. The product is aimed at the "wellness" market and broad sports-related injury management. To make the last leap into final design, development, production and marketing, it will require a Commercial Manager to take charge of its future.

    To be suited to this role you will have a combination of technical nous (without necessarily high level technical expertise in this specific field), commercial acumen and a track record of business development success. A good eye for detail, strong project management skills and the ability to lead diverse teams will be crucial. You'll need boundless energy and be able to think outside the square. Highly competent technical specialists make up the backbone of this company, so your ability to harness their expertise toward a commercial outcome will be the core of your skill set.

    Ideal candidates for this role, first and foremost are commercial and or/marketing savvy professionals. Your background could be from a variety of fields, but is likely to fall into the sports science, sports medicine, medical appliances or therapeutic goods environments. While this is very much an R&D based business, this role is not about seeking grants for further research! This is about selling a new aid to injury treatment and prevention and establishing its place in the market.

    Consequently, we are seeking a true business developer who can identify potential partners to help bring this product from its current, well advanced stage to full development and ultimately to market. You will come from the commercial world, rather than academia. You will require the ability to work autonomously – often away from the home office and to make decisions on the ground. The role will, unsurprisingly, involve extensive interstate and international travel.

    Your responsibility will be to build the brand from scratch and deliver a fully-fledged, mature product line. You will have complete ownership of the process and the go-to-market strategy.
