"Aspiring east coast gas supplier Strike Energy has got a boost from proof of Orica's commitment to follow through on plans to buy gas from its $150 million Southern Cooper Basin project, with its shares jumping 8.3 per cent. Orica, an explosives maker with heavy gas requirements for its manufacturing sites, has chosen to make a $7.5 million pre-payment for a deal inked in 2013 to buy up to 250 petajoules of gas from the junior explorer's project."
