i actually decided to go to aldi today,for the first time in over 10 years,to try and get some sort of handle on all this.
anyway,i noticed that the fruit and veg.is not their strong point.
i missed the cheese section,but just as well because i am a sucker for the real good stuff,and if i could get it at what i considered a good price,then i would splurge too much.
all i was after really,was puff pastry sheets,and to my surprise they were significantly cheaper than Woolies,but to be fair ,i haven"t used them as yet.
also,what caught my eye was frozen pies and pizzas. the range was amazing with low prices also,so i took a chance and stocked up a bit.
then i noticed some petrol powered garden equipment -a massive 50cc chainsaw in a proper carry case and a hedge trimmer will a full crank motor ,also in a carry case,but the price was just only a bit north of $100,and i think the warranty was full replacement ,but not totally sure,for at least a couple of years.
(the jury is still out on whether i will buy them)

in conclusion,it was an eye opener for me today,as it just highlighted how grossly inept WOW management actually are,with massive advantages of scale and geographical locations.
that leads me to the next question-what"s the point of shareholders trying to voice an opinion about all this,when it"s the board that are "in bed" with management. they are a protected species,regardless of the
company performance.
