Thanks, Mainholm, for your thoughtful and informed input. I also noticed the Snowden comment, stating that, in their view, the mineralisation "is not purely lithologically controlled". I'm sure that the significance of this would not be picked up by many investors.

I recall debating this with Paul Kehoe a couple of years ago, when he put forward the idea, and questioning whether the granite intrusion (which is now Mt Coronge) could have had such a profound impact, with an additional metamorphic influence extending for thousands of metres from the granite contact. Now, Snowden's have reinforced Paul's interpretation, showing that he was right, and I was wrong. But that does not matter nearly as much as does the fact that those words highlight the rare combination of events in the immediate Balama area - events which have left SYR with a graphite and vanadium deposit which has no equal (so far, at least) in the world.

This is such an important issue that I strongly support Mainholm's suggestion to people that they take the time to read the material on the link he has provided. OK, it may sound a little geeky, and there are a few words used which are geologist-speak, but digesting the content is not difficult, and the small effort will be amply rewarded, for anybody who wants to invest in the graphite-mining scene.

    Cheers,
