Absolutely agree with the principle of buy low and sell high.
But I think the "research" claim on OBJ threads is a little bit tired and head in the sand. You can't do proper research with company secrecy, lack of qualifications, etc.
For example, who knew that 12c was anywhere near the high point to sell? At that time we seemed to have more big announcements due and some kind of significant cash coming in near-term. Then we got the news that the company only has a 10% chance of $20m in a year and GSK strangely doing tooth brushing experiments with unrealistic timeframes. So much for all the claims years ago of big up-fronts, big royalties, desperate multinationals wanting to get to market asap due to pharma patent cliffs, many secret companies about to announce any moment, management unable to buy shares because of news due, etc.
The share price is less now than four years ago, and in the meantime hundreds of companies have gone through the roof. Why didn't your research find those companies?
I reckon much of the research on HC takes the form of obsession and looking for positive evidence to support your decision. Then secrecy and far-out tech lets the imagination run wild to fill in the huge number of blanks.
