I think the exercise is always be skeptical when the data is too convenient. Last year's zinc spike may initially be the LME stock run down but ever since the continuing stock run down is not having positive effect on zinc price. I did question this divergence, not implying I am skillful or being smart.
I am just lumping all the steel components of raw materials and questioning why should zinc price suddenly do a breakout.
I haven't looked into the fundamental drivers of zinc price so my comments are not qualified.
