Who are you even referring to when you say "their agenda of social and economic destruction..."? Like, Marx? He's long gone buddy. That'd be like me always ranting about how the Japs are gonna invade - patently absurd. If you mean the multitudes of great modern economists who have done lots of research to show that the healthier a society is, the stronger is it's growth, and the stronger is it's economic foundation, then I ask, do you actually think that people have a motivation to destroy society? Dude quick, have you checked under your bed for a red?

Plenty of research shows that the less inequality there is, the better it is for everyone, the rich included. The only people who are hell bent on social destruction - and of course that's not their goal, but they just don't yet see it as the inevitable outcome if they are able to fully indulge their desires - are the crazed neo-liberal profiteers.

One group motivated by greed, the other group motivated by what exactly? Just a hedonistic desire to destroy society?

Neo-liberal capitalism has wreaked more economic destruction and waste than any moderately intelligent implementation of social democracy.
