    I should point out that successful scale-up isn't a given.
    There are many factors which can cause problems.
    If the manufacture in the lab uses a batch process and in a small reactor vessel/oven with a particular type of mixing/stirring there is no guarantee that scaling that up will produce the same proppant with the same properties. Especially if the process becomes continuous.
    Obviously the engineers are hired for this reason.

    This to me is currently the greatest risk and the biggest hurdle.

    If the pilot plant is a success then in my mind JV deals and licensing is basically a slam dunk. I say this because the proppant is already ISO certified. So if the pilot plant produces identical prop to the lab there are no reasons why someone shouldn't buy it...
