re: up in the usa I have not heard that Bolivia has nationalised anything other than its gas assets - not the gold or silver mines - although there is fear that they may do so. Someone still has to produce the gas (i.e. operating company) - most likely to be a big multinational company. The funny thing is this only brings them into line with Arab countries and Venezuela and Russia; even Norway. Most countries now politically own natural resources by govt. control.
