"Sept. 28, 1998 -- Zanamivir, a member of a new class of drugs being evaluated for use in the treatment and prevention of influenza virus infections, was effective when given intravenously in preventing experimental infection with and illness due to influenza A virus in human volunteers."
GSK have put their keenest minds on injectable relenza, they expect to have something in another two years. Total research time an impressive ten+ years. No doubt they had to overcome technical hurdles like, do we add relenza to the water, or the water to the relenza?
Alternately what is to stop someone with some inhalable Relenza from making up their own injectable? Does anyone know if it is packaged sterile?
