    You say,
    "Initial bulk samples containing about 2 carats per 100 cubic meters should do it imo."

    I think you are being a optimistic here and will need a LOT more than that.

    Back around 1968 Letśeng (RTZ at the time) which is most probably the LOWEST grade kimberlite mined in the world had initial bulk samples (7500 tonne) from the surface of about 13.23 CPHM.

    This has decreased as they have got deeper and now is about 5.2 CPHM (app 2 cpht at a sg of 2.6).

    I don't need to go on about the value of Letśeng diamonds or its high proportion of type 11a's (32% main pipe and 51% satellite pipe ) do I?

    Yet this is not a huge money earner.

    Also all kimberlite grades should be expressed in cpht not cphm.
