Of course people only buy what they can afford. But if you have a family of 3 instead of 5 you have more disposable income. Then add another person in that household working and you have even more Money. Then take Into account you only need a 3 bedroom house instead of 5 means even though your paying the same equivalent price for a 5 bedder 10 years ago it doesn't matter because you don't need 5 beds.

blah blah blah.... Median wage to Median house is around 8x FACT try putting that into a repayment mortgage calculator from the bank. And remember Median is the norm.
