I never said it would be lifted out of the water. I'm sorry that you wasted so much effort there.
The buoys sit just below the surface. During storms they can be lowered further, but if a big wave, say twice the size of a very large storm wave, comes along, the buoy will be left in the air as the wave drops the water out from underneath it.
I'm sure it will be all OK, that amount of momentum with the weight of an aircraft carrier suddenly finding itself in an environment for which it was not designed.
