The uptake of app users to donate regularly (most do one-offs for starters) against the current salesforce hitting the market will not get close.

As for ACU marketing their app to all and sundry, it will take millions and millions to even touch the surface, so their 15% will be evaporated quickly, even if they get any worthwhile volume.

What is to stop a charity developing their own app and doing a deal with the Aussie phone companys (for example) and keep 100% of the donation?

Warnie, your comment that the charity would not only be losing 40% to third parties, but now also another 15% to ACU shows you really don't understand. Or you do understand but you like being mischievous. You like attention?

ACU is another source of charitable donations and is competing directly with "third parties". ACU is the cheaper at just 15% and I doubt any charity could go it alone and retrieve anything close to 85%. If they could have, they would have.
