Thats not the point. The surface material is relatively recent and its a very encouraging sign that there were any diamonds at all on surface. The ancient gravels are where the larger stones and much higher grades should be present. Mining this sort of material is the cheapest form of mining anywhere in the world and is often sub $4 per ton. In parts of the world, its lower than $2 per ton.
The average Carat grade of most alluvial deposits is a fraction of the grade of the MUS results and these diamonds are Gem quality and therfore worth a lot more than even the Marange diamonds. 70% of Marange are industrial diamonds at the source and the ones that have survived rolling down rivers for this distance, are clearly the better gem quality stones. Anyone who just writes this off without understanding what might be here, is not doing themselves any favs.
I see a lot of guys assume its the same old stuff, but MUS has had a make over with highly skilled new management, raised some $9m and secured some of the most prospective exploration ground in two seperate minerals in Mozambique. I would forget the past, and take some time to work out what this company might really have. It would be sad to look back in a few months and see the stock trading over $1 because everyone could not see beyond the old stuff. Im not telling everyone to buy it, im just stating that this is a new game with new projects and hundreds of mining companies are being rebuilt from the ground up and some of these will be rebuilt 5 times and more. dyor
