Re "cold hard numbers" - they were not about to run out of cash. Some additional cursory research will help you.
Capital injection- simple accounting rules (it's why it's called. "balance sheet") mean that when debt is replaced by capital, the company's net worth increases by the amount of additional capital. (Higher value company divided by more shareholders.)
The market would love it. Just wish they would do it!
