ISI it all depends on size of mobile equipment they have bought/hired with costs of fuel. I worked in mining in Pilbara for 10 yrs with large diggers/dump trucks/dozers so all is relevant to actual cost on size of machines. A large digger holds 14,500 litres fuel and a 793 dump truck holds 4600 litres fuel. A D11 dozer holds much less. So yes fuel costs are large for mining companies -from memory about 1/4 of total $$ outlaid.
