RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil, May 15 (Reuters) -
Brazil's CVRD , the world's leading producer and exporter of iron ore, said on Monday it secured a groundbreaking 19 percent price increase for 2006 in negotiations with Germany's biggest steelmaker, ThyssenKrupp
The first agreed increase in annual talks usually means that other CVRD clients in Europe and Asia would follow suit.
In a statement, Companhia Vale do Rio Doce (CVRD) also said that it agreed with ThyssenKrupp a 3 percent cut for blast furnace iron ore pellets.
