    Average Sydney house price 30 years ago was $50'000 , now almost $1'000'000. 2000% return, excluding rental income, or money saved on rental paid as mortgage.

    Average gold price 1980 was $450, now close to $1100. A bit over double your money , with no income associated with it, and you can't live under your gold.
