VZ is a great company. I don't think their invvestment appraisal hurdles allow for them to takeover VTX.
VZ has a considerable moat and tends to piggy back off the IP of its own research which it shared with Vodafone until recently.
New technologies and their IP in the telco space tends to be snapped up in the mid-range corporates.
