DaveR once again your jaundiced and warped view of reality has clouded your vision. The shields placed themselves in front of civil targets, power stations, water facilities and the like. NOT military installations. Their goal was to try and protect the civilian population from harm as much as possible. These people had more courage in one finger than in your whole miserable body.
