By the way - your tip offs by public officials and the like are more likely to to fall into the "inside information" camp.

The test is when someone knows something for a fact, particularly someone in a statutory position and this gets shared.

Your comments "i know more than I can say" implies inside information, particularly when it is both material and counter to current expectations or public targets. If this is the case you shouldn't be posting at all because the tone of what you say and hint at can actually pass on your inside information.

There have been plenty of cases where insiders got prosecuted for inside trading when the information wasn't explicitly shared to someone who then traded.

This is what I don't like about your posting - you obviously have someone telling you stuff which you believe is material and then you go and hint and post about it.

I have simply shared facts that assist in presenting the current picture, primarily because your posting has been giving a misrepresented one.

The punters that patted you on the back for the pit wall slip and your own "yes well but there is more to come comments" are a bit over the top because no one could had predicted an earthquake just as the loose material was being removed and probably at its most unstable point.

I had specifically done a lot of work on pit stability and this was always a risk - my assessment before the event was it was a low risk. Was I wrong because it happened? Not really, because calling an earthquake in that area and depth right at that time was a very low probability event.

As I keep saying, in business and mining particularly unpredictable things happen. The key is knowing the risks and monitoring them - just like Red management did in terms of the wall stability. So the risk was there and they were watching it carefully and this led to no injuries or loss of equipment.

For me that is good management of those factors in their control. Others want to judge by both controllable and uncontrollable factors, this is not reasonable for me. Good luck or bad luck isnt a reason for a back pat or slap on the behind.
