I would guess the boos at the outrageous and threatening behavior of Goodes towards the crowd with his spear-throwing charades, similar to a threat made by drawing a finger across the throat or pointing an imaginary gun to a forehead, were just as passsionate as were the chants of approval for the outstanding sportsmanship of the English cricket players and others...
Unfortunately stupidity of the type demonstrated by Goodes tends to be somewhat infectious which is of course one of the many dangers of Goodes' disgraceful antics on and off the field when a dunce like this is in the public limelight for his few seconds of fame...
While Goodes may have demonstrated that he has sufficient eye-hand coordination to suuceed at the mechanics of the game of football, he has also clearly demonstrated that he does not have that spirit of sportsmanship and even common sense that seperates an athelete from the rest of the players and endears him/her to the crowd as we have seen with the great bulk of aboriginal players and atheletes...
It is far better for Goodes to disappear from the scene in his current disgrace for his disgusting and threatening antics than for him to further soil the great game of football...

Well said ben , I don't think Goodes has the intelligence to be able to cope with the trouble he has now created . Probably explains his absence . I hope he now retires and disappears into the ether but something tells me he will become an ALP poster boy and parachuted into a safe seat where he will continue to be in our faces with his racist rants
