Lapdog, the article you linked to judges govts purely on the amount of legislation which they pass. That is like judging an alcoholic on the number of shots they can down.
Good governance should be judged on quality not quantity. One of the many problems with the Rudd Gillard Rudd shambles was the amount of terrible legislation which they passed with their hard left green allies and union bosses
Abbott's first term has been largely about getting rid of that terrible legacy. A useless mining tax which cost more administer than it raised. A needless carbon dioxide tax which hobbles Australian industry for literally no result. Legislation to abandon years of effective border policies to lure vulnerable people onto the rocks at Christmas Island, place thousands of children behind wire and waste $50 billion which could have been spent far better.
The Rudd Gillard govt would have been far better had they not been so keen on passing bad bills. To judge a govt purely on that metric is typical of The Age.
Fortunately most Australians do not see the world through such red flag-tinted glasses and can judge the Abbott govt on its merits. That is why they are still stong favourites to win a second term.
A term in which I hope that they again pass fewer and better bills than the previous mob. The Age can then re-run their same, pathetic, judgement.
