Well, Ayn Rand had seriously addictive personality. Died of heart attack after 3 decades of heavy smoking and, in order to complete a novel whilst battling fagtigue, got a prescription drug to which she became heavily addicted.
Her story is not one that would have anyone willing 'use' drugs, unless they'd prefer a stuffed-up unhealthy life.
To quote "Lots of people have used drugs" as, somehow, a defense to using them yourself is truly weird. Lots of people have self-harmed, comitted suicide, etc but how does that serve as a defense of their choices? Where's the logic? Oh, gone with a few of those brain cells.
