re: & eric _yak On 15 November 2002 Bears and bulls described himself as a christian who had been to Israel twice on "Christian Solidarity Missions" and had done a bus tour of Israel and the occupied territories.

So Why did B&B describe the Sharon enquiry as "our Royal Commission"? Did he convert to Judaism between November and April??

This what he said when he was still a "Christian".

    "Ah, Mr Chenguetti,

But I too have been to Israel, twice on Christian Solidarity missions. Your assertions are incorrect. Perhaps I am mistaken but are you suggesting that the three million Palestinians who have lived in the camps that you refer to, and were there prior to the 1967 war and they were under the direct control of a)Gaza --- Egypt and b) West Bank--- Jordan, are in Israel proper?

“Pretty hard to keep an accounting system when the Israel's bomb your HQ every three weeks
and steal the Hard drives on your computer”

The Israelis have taken the above action (only as a reaction) only after the Intifada began some 2 years ago and more so after the murders committed by the suicide bombers. As Snooker pointed out, nothing was damaged between 1993 (Oslo Accord) and 2000. Hanan Ashwari complained about the corruption prior to the Intifada commencing. She even resigned her post.

“How kind of Israel to invade a country, tax it, then return a small portion to the population. Such benevolence”

Out of context I’m afraid. Between 1993 and 2000 Israel was paying every penny. The tax was from the deductions of Palestinians who were generously provided employment as their own leaders were incapable of creating jobs or industries to keep pace with the Arab expected requirements. Further axes were collected by the use of Israel built pors and infrastructure that the Palestinian economy was making use of.

“Israel doubled the settler in the occupied territories during this 7 year period. Its a wonder that the Palestinians tolerated this breach of faith for so long.”

Our group believes that the Jews may settle where they wish. In fact the Towns of Hebron and Shechem, are both biblical Hebrew names mentioned in the Holy Testament. When did they become Palestinian? We had a magnificent tour of those areas in partcular. Our tour guide was in fact a Palestinian Arab, Christian of course and in the safety of our bus, set many records straight.

“Re your points about Jordan and Egypt being democracies, it would be pointless for me to
go on with it. That comment has shown just how little you know about either country.
Please read more carefully. I said that those countries are closer to the ideals of democracy than Israel. These countries do not have 3 million + people denied the right to vote on racist grounds
and therefore are more democratic than Israel.”

Absolute garbage! Egypt has many more people denied the rights to vote. Plus, there are restrictions on which parties may be registered in the first instance. Why, the King of Jordan can dissolve the Parliament any time he wishes and he is the Chief in command of the armed forces. Was he elected? And as for Egypt, the Muslim Brotherhood is banned, so are g'ay people, the Coptics are an oppressed minority even though they are the closest sect to the original Egyptians of ancient times.

In summary, the falsehoods such as the PA cannot provide security because the Israelis have destroyed their apparatus flies in the face of reality and the truth. Their apparatus was intact prior to this staged outbreak of the intifada and subsequent distruction. What was the reason for the lawlessness both internal and external, then?

The PA is intact in Gaza. Why are gangs in control of the street there? These are gangs who terrorize their own people. They are very similar to the Afghani warlords. They are a law unto themselves. They steal cars they demand protection money from merchants. Almost like the Capones of days of old.

On our trip it was striking that one could walk down the strets of Jerusalem or Tel Aviv, hear people openly debating their views about the rights and the wrongs of their own government, yet when we drove to the Arab villages within the West bank, they were frightened to talk to us. Some did, Christians in the main, but whenever a Palestinian policeman walked by or they felt they were being observed, the topic quickly changed or they gave us the “shhh” sign followed by a finger movement across the throat. They were not frightened of the Israelis, there were none about, they were frightened of their own!

The opulence of the people at the top is simply staggering. Not only that, a wave of a hand can be the difference between life and death. You can actually see Arabs cowering and cringing from their fellow Arabs. Christian villages are being denuded of Christians and they are leaving in droves.

We met with Arabs in East Jerusalem, both Israeli and non Israeli Arabs. They were asked if they wished to establish a confederation between themselves and PA. I would say the overwhelming majority, probably more than 95% thought we were crazy. Why would they want to give up what Israel has to offer despite the prejudices that exist and I admit they do exist, (but then there is plenty of prejudice here in Australia, for example against our indigenous aborigine? Israel does not have a monopoly of the prejudices that exist in the world), their lives are 100 times better than their counterparts over the green line. Plus they themselves do not trust the PA."
