Japan is an east Asian country with geopolitical issues with their larger neighbor China! Despite their defense alliance with the USA they are not a direct part of the West or their military industrial complex!
Indirectly JOGMEC and specifically JARE and Mt Kellet etc. are the creditors that will eventually own Lynas outright unless the $1/2 billion debt can be successfully renegotiated very soon!
