Well, 10Gb/s (full duplex - so true 10Gb/s in both directions) consumer fibre network cards are available right now. So 10-100 times the down performance and 100-1000 times the up performance of mobile wireless. There's really very little to stop that increasing to 100 gigabit or terabit capacity if and when the need arises.
