re: woollies buy back ... andrew Hi Andrew ... certainly a most unconventional arrangement ... I'm feeling a bit thick-headed this morning and admit unable to see how "all shareholders will benefit" here.
4% buy-back at $11.40 does not equate to an 11% price hike IMHO ... equals overbought.
Raises the next question: If one purchased a parcel of WOW say 10 months ago for say $13.00 and sold them into this buy-back at say capital value of $2.88 ... does the difference represent a capital loss for taxation purposes ???
Assuming also, one has pocketed the fully franked $8.52 component.
One would have been psychic to anticipate this lot !!!
