The polls are what they are, and they are not good news for the govt presently. Having said that, an election forces people to actually focus on which side they want running the ship.

Yes, I have said quite a few times here I am disappointed with Abbott. He lacks leadership qualities. He also made the stupid gaff just before the election of promising not to do exactly what he should. Now, he is unable to control the agenda and keep the focus on what's important ie the economy, growth, productivity, industrial reform. He allows himself to be deflected by 10th order issues like same sex unions, the ridiculous and divisive referendum on indigenous recognition. Not one extra vote for the Coalition in those. Not one.

He is also hamstrung by Hockey. What kind of fool tells us we have to tighten our belts to help get the Budget under control then talks tax cuts and, today, allowing women to keep getting welfare if they return to work? The idea is to get them off it, Joe.

I'd support a change. Turncoat is yesterday's man and would be a disaster. Scottie ticks the boxes for me, though Julie B is an impressive performer too.
