re: phil cant believe state one stockbroking still If the gold price retreat by 9% or whatever, blows away the company's profitability (eg it had a 9% profit marginon current prices), well a 25% fall in share price is comparatively modest-it is what the gold price does to immediate profitability, not to the perceived value of the group based on an overall commodity movement.
Guess the Fogarties were never too smart at maths......
In RSG's case, it is currently a high cost producer and any movement in the gold price has significant leverage to both the upside and the downside.
