G'Day cerhob. Did you not listen to PM tonight? Howard specifically reiterated that this was all about WMD and that finding them would justify his actions.
As you may recall before the war about 70% of folk were against it. Of these I think about 30% were pro-war no matter what and 40% were in favour only with UN approval (my figures could be out a bit, I'm going from memory). Many who moved over to the pro-war stance after invasion did so to support the troops but many were not happy about the non-UN involvement.
I do think that public opinion is a fickle thing and that failure to find WMD or a deterioration of the situation in Iraq with regard to unrest amongst the competeing factions could put the spotlight very much back on the coalition.
At any rate, my main concern is that these inspections be carried out under the auspices of the UN.
