Everyone knows this, but unfortunately, 'moderate' muslims simply don't matter, anymore that moderate Germans did in 1939.
Also, unfortunately, you only need ONE radical, to cause carnage, and it's simply not true that these radicals are only a problem for the ME. France, Germany, Australia, UK etc have their share of radicals.
It really does suck for the peaceful Muslims, but reality is their book (what underpins Islam) is the problem (by interpretation).
There really needs to be 'schism', within the religion. A break away group, with a different name, and some type of recognised visible hierarchy. A group that can make a final interpretation of the scriptures in the book (peaceful), a group that is willing to evolve (like Christianity did from the dark ages), a group that encourages science and education, tolerance and the inherently christian value of FORGIVENESS.
Of course this is a pipe dream and the lot of them will just cut heads off for the next few hundred years, whilst the peaceful ones remain largely silent.
