There is probably no difference between the two wells at the same depth,
ie no appreciable horizonal differences
the differences are vertical, the fracture zone below where we are now allows the trapped water to migrate more freely, this will make drilling more tricky (although managable) and there is the possibility of more rock fracture with the potential to jamb the bit, or lock the drill string, (which happend in the original Hab-2 well resulting in the buried drill string, hence the side track).
These potential problems are known, and contingencies and procedures are planned to reduce risk.

Ceramic propant, yes just another technique to employ.
I believe all the problems have a technical solution.
