re: stupid topic: my two bobs worth We may be right that copper is too high and that hedge funds are too involved in the speculation. We may also be right that demand is high and will continue for years and years.
However if we are making long term investment decisions based on copper or zinc remaining at these prices for the long term then we are going to be sadly disappointed. The companies we invest in must be viable at long term prices far lower than they currently are. If they are not then we need to get out of those companies.
I am sure analysts are not using $3.80/lb on copper to calculate earnings for our major copper producers.
