sacd thanks for your comments, it is my goal to seek the truth behind market movements, slowly but surely I am getting there, at least I am getting the long term waves spot on now… but please be careful with my short term calls.
Astrology is an interesting field; I don’t take aspects between planets etc seriously at all. I was only reading some article today about a Saturn/Mars conjunction in the next few days, the author of this article believed it would result in a stock market crash, so I thought ok lets see what happened last this aspect occurred, evidently nothing at all.
However there are regular cycles like the 30-year inflation cycle in the US. 30 years is the Orbit of Saturn. Is Saturn’s position in the heavens causing the cycle? No. The reason I know this is because the 30 year cycle was evident before the civil war in the US, after the civil war it returned but with a totally different synchronization point, therefore proving Saturn’s position in the sky is not the cause, its just the cycle time… which is caused by Saturn.
To simplify, if I plant a seed (say a seed that will grow and bear fruit all year round). If I plant seed A today and seed B in a months time then seed A will bear fruit 1 month before seed B obviously. Like ways the seed of the US was planted with the economy first took hold, this seed was destroyed during the civil war and germinated again and thus produces its fruits every 30 years… now.
Applying the same to the stock market, with the Dow, the new seed was planted on the 14th of January 2000, its fruits where first to be seen on the 9th of March 2003… bear market bottom…. Next on the 21st of April…. Extraordinarily close to the bull market top. There are reasons why the cycles don’t hit exactly but its to much to say here.
The long-term seed is the 21-year cycle in the US (also the war cycle). If you de-trend US stock market data you will see the market alternate between bull and bear in the long term… applying this from the first day of the NYSE it works fine until 1914. What happened? US markets where closed for 6 months during the war… the seed of growth died, a new seed was planted and bears its fruit every 21 years (thereabouts – is +/- 2yrs due to smaller cycles).
So as you see I do use ASTRONOMY as for astrology itself, I have a few logical, moral and accuracy issues with it.
