From what I gather, Fiona Wood did not want to carry out trails, as it was too difficult to stage. As she had by far the best method, she felt that it was unfair to a patient to treat one in her way and another in a way that would leave scars and be more time consuming and therefore more painful.
Also, burns are very different, especially in depth. So it would be very hard to run a control group.
I think a lot of the criticism is from professional jealousy.
Also, the management issue was extremely bad for the company.
However, their main earning power will be through the sale of recell for cosmetic surgery.
