re: commodities is the boom over The funniest argument I saw for a copper price fall was that it was only costing BHP Billiton 65 cents US per pound to produce. What would the chump that said this think of the oil market if he knew it was costing the Saudis a few bucks a barrel to produce? The mining execs are talking the market down and the economists are buying it hook, line and sinker. The fact remains that an extended period of high prices is necessary to greatly stimulate production.
